When I embarked on my new career journey after having my baby girl, I had a deep desire to create a space where I could share my thoughts, experiences, and the lessons that have shaped me. We have a story to share and I believe that there has to be purpose in all that we have journeyed through. This is how “Into the Light” was born, a name that came to me naturally as I reflected on the path I’ve walked. It symbolizes not only light but also transformation, growth, and the knowledge that comes from navigating life’s many challenges.

Motherhood brought so many shifts in my life, especially the journey of rediscovering myself and my purpose. Each stage, from career changes to personal revelations, taught me invaluable lessons. Now, I want to share these experiences with others who may be grappling with similar transitions and fears. Whether you’re adjusting to life with a new baby, considering a career change, or simply trying to find balance, there’s always light to guide the way, even when thing appear to be dark.

A meaningful part of this journey was the unexpected symbol of a bee. Whenever I have a bright new idea or I’m on the verge of something significant, a bee will often appear, as if to tell me I’m on the right path. It might sound strange, but it’s happened too many times to ignore!

During my pregnancy, I noticed bees all around me, almost as if they were speaking to me. One day, while I was at work, a swarm of bees flew into the room, drawn to the light streaming through the ceiling. I felt a slight panic, not only because I was pregnant and surrounded by bees, but because it felt so significant. In African culture, bees are said to follow new life. At the time, my colleagues didn’t know I was pregnant, but I couldn’t help but smile when one of them asked, “Are you sure you’re not pregnant?” That moment became a turning point for me, as I started to understand the connection between new beginnings and the light we create in the world.

As I pondered the name for my business, I thought back to the bees and realised that like them, we are all drawn to light. More than that, we have the power to create light for others, to inspire and guide them. This is the heart of what “Into the Light” represents. I realized my calling is to encourage others by shining my light, helping them find their own inner light to illuminate their path.

The name came to me one day, and I immediately felt at peace with it. Not long after, I received a lamp I had ordered weeks earlier for my aging father. Its arrival felt like a sign and confirmation that I was on the right path. My father, who has brought me many challenges and heartache has also been a source of my own wisdom. The light to me in that moment was a reminder that after every period of darkness, light will always follow.

“Into the Light” is about my personal journey into the “knowing field,” but it’s also about helping others find their way through life’s transitions. Whether it’s a career change, navigating motherhood, or discovering your purpose, I’m here to help you step into your own light.
